Zeffirino

IF YOU DON'T VISIT HERE, YOU MISSED OUT!! Probably the best pasta I've had in my life. The restaurant is tucked away off the main path so you can miss it easily while shopping. From the start the service was 5 stars. The staff helped us with our stroller, circumventing the stairs into the entrance. Once sat, they offer wine/drinks and bring out an assortment of delicious breads including to die for focaccia! We had the pesto and vegetales ravioli covered in Meat sauce. Omg splendid. Ill make sure this is my 1st visit next time I return.

The most amazing dining experience of our lives. We went about 5:30pm so had the restaurant to ourselves. The waiter was so welcoming, professional and helpful. The pesto sample that came with the bread - we couldn't believe how good it was, even the croutons, every piece of bread. The balsamic vinegar seemed like they had their own version- the best we've ever had. Then the most amazing experience was the dish they invented for Frank Sinatra many years ago. We were absolutely blown away at how delicious this dish was. Now that we're home in the US, we still talk about how good that dish was- it was a highlight of our 2 week trip to Europe. We could not describe with words how exquisite this was, it must be experienced. Not to mention the beautiful atmosphere inside. We would repeat it if we had time and can't wait to return someday.

We chose the "Zeffirino" restaurant because of its popularity in Genoa City. Its Google score attracted our attention, knowing that it is located in the city center. Upon entering, we already had a table prepared. Nice and clean. There are lots of pictures depicting the history of the Zeffirino family, which I guess from conversations must be a very popular restaurant in the city. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne, which turned out to be nice, and the staff were extremely friendly (in general). The food was nice. But no big deal. The soup (traditional from Italy) was good, but nothing special. Portuguese cuisine has had this same soup, which is much better and tastier, for many years. The lobster pasta was reasonable. No big deal for a restaurant located in a country famous for its pasta. And I say lobster because I only got two pieces on my plate. Unfortunate. The most negative point was in fact the waiter (probably the restaurant's owner) who greeted all the tables with greetings and welcomes, completely ignoring the table I was at. Bad manners to say the least. Mr. "Zeffirino", a word of advice from someone with a keen eye and an exquisite palate. You should NEVER interrupt my almost complete dinner by cutting up my lobster (2 small pieces). If you want to be friendly, be so from the start when we enter your restaurant. And treat all the tables with respect and greetings. That's how you make a good owner and a good business owner. A place not to return to.

A traditional and iconic restaurant in Genova. Definitely a place I recommend if you are in Genova. I have eaten the Mandrilli with Pesto, definitely the best Pesto ever in Genova. The only recommendation I would like to give is to pay more attention to the service. The service for the dinner was a little bit confused with some delays. If you pay more attention to the little details definitely my review will change to 5 stars.

Early in our 2 week trip through Italy and France , visiting several locations , we spent 1 night in Genoa . Since it was Valentines Day we looked for a nice restaurant and were fortunate to find Zeffirinos ! A Family restaurant since 1939 , it was everything you’d hope an elegant, fine dining restaurant to be . Beautiful, well run by husband and wife , Marco and Michelle Zeffirino , delicious and with fabulous service . It was memorable for the occasion and the experience. Worth a detour if in the area .
